Baby Powder Bomb

While on break from work, Mackenna and I had a lot of down time at the house which was amazing!  While I was cleaning up the house one day, it became a little too quiet. When I went to go look for where the little rugrat could be, I found this scene in my bedroom...

BABY POWDER BOMB!!!!!!

This picture does the scene no good justice, but I ended up not being very upset because the second I walked in, she knew it was naughty and instantly started saying, "I help clean mommy!!!!"

I'm sure there will be many more surprises to come in the coming months :)

Makeup and Dress-up :)

When I say Mackenna is a girly girl, that might not even do it justice!  Lately she's been into putting makeup on with mommy, painting her nails and mommy's nails and constantly wearing a dress-up dress whenever she can :) Here are just a few pics to show off this cute lil girly girl!

Dressed like Cinderella, playing with Cinderella :)

A girl and her shoes starts early :)

Painting mommy's nails

When she was done putting my makeup on me she said, "There ya go Mommy, good as new!" They really do say the darndest things!

More nail painting!

Dance, Dance, Dance

Always posing :)

Christmas Favorites

Christmas was magic this year. Having Mackenna at the age she is at made everything about the holidays this year magical and so much fun. It sure was a let down when it was all over and I think I might be crazy saying this or writing it for all to see, but I'm looking forward to next year already!

Of course her holidays were all about Cinderella and the princesses, but just to have as much family time as we did made for a great and perfect Christmas!

Any time she can dress-up and pose, she's all about it :)

Kenna and her mama

Mommy's 2 favorite people!

It was so fun to watch her lil face on Christmas morning. Santa must have worked so hard to get her the pink kitchen she had been asking for and to see it there that morning, she was in awe!

Just sat there for awhile before she really started to realize it was all for her.

As I said, this child is extremely animated and this is one of our favorites from the holidays to show just that! She was constantly being surprised and enjoying every moment :)

She was pretty excited to also see the chalkboard table mommy and daddy got for her (fun side project for mommy I might add)

By far our favorite pic of the year!!!!  If this doesn't show you how animated and genuinely excited she was, I'm not sure what will :) LOVE THIS!

If you can picture her saying, "Oh my gosh!", this is yet another one of our favorites!!!!  She is simply the best lil girl in the whole world; whether there is biases included or not :)

Horrible Up-Keep!!!!

EEK! I can't believe how long it's been since I posted...it seems that I get into a good groove and then let it fall to the wayside :( I will say that life has been CRAZY, so that's my one excuse :) With the decision to build a home and getting everything together and watching it all unfold + CHRISTMAS in the mix, it's been less than relaxing at our household, but oh so exciting!

So as for miss Mackenna - all I can say is WHAT A FUN AGE!!!!!  2.5 is beyond my favorite age. I think I've said that before, but seriously this age is amazing. She's her own little person and her personality has just blossomed! She's very descriptive, very animated (ok EXTREMELY animated...wonder where she gets that!) and it would be an understatement to say she's very independent. I would say her independence is a blessing and a curse :) While it's awesome she wants to do everything on her own, it does get in the way at times, but we have to remember that's her way of learning, but discipline has gotten a bit more 'formal' in the sense of around as of late.  However, she is such a good girl!  She's sweet, genuine, caring, funny and oh-so-witty!!!!!  She loves to entertain (again, wonder where she gets that) and LOVES TO TALK :) pay-back as Grandma Harrison would say.

She's been having so much fun in dance class and just last week they started learning their recital routine and got their adorable costumes. And if you can believe this, they changed the song to 'A Dream is a Wish' from Cinderella - couldn't be more perfect considering she is still madly in love with not just Cinderella but all the Disney princesses. She prays for each of them each night and loves to talk about them in all her conversations. It doesn't help that most of the kids at Pati's are girls and they are all in love with anything princess :) it sure does make for some fun conversations at home though.

Of course Daddy needs to have his daddy time with her outside of the princess world, so they have a favorite game called 'Tackle Ball' that they typically play each night when he gets home from work and as of late, they started doing a 'bro-shake' in place of hugs...but of course the hugs are still a big factor every day :)

We've noticed that she is not only progressing with her personality and words, but we're seeing a big differennce with her coloring as she's beginning to focus on staying in the lines and she's also become very good at puzzles and I might even go as far to say as it is one of her favorite activities. Aside from dancing, she is becoming quite the little singer and her favorite songs are, "HOME" by Phillip Phillips and "HO HEY" by The Lumineers - knows most of the words and loves to sing in the car and at home :) it brings such joy to us to hear that precious little voice.

Potty training is coming, but not there yet. She totally gets it, but just isn't completely ready. She has a potty gift bag and each time she goes on the potty she gets a little surprise from the bag. And she also has a sticker chart that she seems to get excited about, but it's just been inconsistent. We aren't pushing it too much, but have a feeling by the time she's 3 or before, we'll have an official big girl. For now, we'll just keep working on it when she's ready and stay as patient as possible (wink wink)!

I think that's all I have for now...of course I'll follow up with more picture posts to go with all the updates and as usual, I'll try and stay more consistent with the posts and updates :)
