Mommy Guilt

As I opened up the blog to realize I haven't posted anything since October 17th - the mommy guilt set in BIG TIME!!!!!  Oh my goodness, where has the time gone? We've gone through Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas AND New Years!!!!  And well here we are in 2014!!!

So with that, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all! We certainly finished off our year strong and ready to take on another one. Mackenna has grown leaps and bounds these last few months. Most noticeably has not only been her incredible imagination, but also her desire to write and really focus on her letters. She can sit and write names for quite some time, not to mention draw her family over and over again which is pretty adorable!

Nate is on the far left with Mackenna right next to him. Then it's Wrigley (notice the large eyes which may look a tad scary, but it's cool to know she picks up on that stuff) and then Me. Not sure what I'm sitting or standing on, but she did mention our house is all around us. Made our hearts melt to see this!!!!

One of my personal resolutions this year is to be more in the moment so a couple things have changed in this short time we've been in 2014. The first one has been taking my Facebook and Twitter apps off of my phone. I found I was becoming so easily distracted and not being as 'in-the-moment' as I could and it was disheartening. I am happy to report so far so good and not shockingly, I'm not missing out on much of anything :) The second was to take care of me a bit more....but what I mean is so I can be a better mother and wife to my 2 favorite people. So with that, Mackenna and I joined Lifetime Fitness right by our house and we both LOVE to go. In fact, she loves going to the child care center (well we call it the Play Area) so much that she's got her first boyfriend - one of the workers named Zack. But leave it to Kenna, she has nicknamed him Zacky! Yep, no lie!!!!  It's adorable and she gets so excited to go see him - makes me never doubt for a second that I didn't make the right decision. She's getting a good solid hour of playtime in each day and staying healthy and so am I! Mission accomplished so far...

I'll make sure to get some of our holidays pics up on here in the coming days (if not today since I'm notorious for doing it all at once) and maybe make another resolution to get on here at least once a week to make sure I'm documenting some of the most amazing moments in our little Kenna's life!!!!

Til then...
