Bedtime for Kenna

Couldn't resist and had to share Mackenna's bedtime attire from last night :)

Leotard, PJ pants, TuTu, and of course her mini purse :)

PJ/Movie Day at Daycare!

It's a rainy, gloomy day here, so Pati is having a PJ/Movie day at daycare today!  We were sent this pic :) looks so cozy and relaxing!  Wish I was a kid again!

Kinda hidden, but there she is!

Mama's on Cloud 9!

Mackenna and I ventured over to Grandma and Grandpa Harrison's house last night after work to check in on the new empty-nesters and Kenna walked into a couple surprises!  They took it upon themselves to purchase her 1st ever dance outfit :) and let me tell you, she felt SO proud; it was so adorable!  She had to put it on right away and she even danced for Grandma and Grandpa, which normally, she gets a little too shy!

So incredibly proud!

Grandma was in the background showing her how to hold her arms for a ballet photo :)

Loving the leg warmers :)

Practicing her dance moves!!

After the 1st surprise, she got her 2nd which was a cute little computer, mouse included!  This came at a perfect time as lately, we've been finding her downstairs sitting on the chair playing on the computer, so now she can have her own!

And yes, she had to keep her outfit on while playing with her new computer

She even wore her leotard under her PJ pants to bed last night too - she is VERY excited for dance class.  Next on the agenda, buying her first pair of tap and ballet shoes :) I can't wait!!!!

Princess Conky

Nate and I had a fun date night on Friday night and went to my roommate's wedding from college!  It was so fun to see some of my favorite sorority girls from both Pi Phi and A Phi while enjoying some laughs, wine and dancing!

The beautiful bride and my girls!

Me and Nate - we NEVER get pics together so of course the one we took was blurry!

While we were having a good time, Kenna was home with her Auntie Hannah!  This was the first time Hannah had come over without her boys (Kenna loves the boys), so none of us knew how it was going to go, but as usual, it went great!  She barely said goodbye to us when we left.

About 8pm or so I decided to check in with her and what we were about to receive might be one of the best pictures ever...

Not only did we get this picture showing us Kenna getting ready for bed...we also found out she was asking Hannah to go on the potty!  She still isn't going when she asks, but we're just happy she's very interested and apparently interested enough to ask other people now!

PS - Princess Conky is her new name because when you ask her to say her own name, Kenna, she says, "Conky!" - it's freaking hysterical and of course, so darn cute!

Princess of Minnesota

We were at Target this past weekend and I walked by the MN sports apparel section and saw this t-shirt and tutu and HAD to get it :) She has a UT sweatshirt, so I figured that the good ole U of MN has to be represented in the house as well...she loved it!  Wore it 2 days in a row, Sunday and she had to wear it to show her friends at Pati's on Monday.

Lil Gopher Princess

We intially had gotten her some colored pencils that she saw, so with those and her new outfit, she was loving her Sunday afternoon.  She wouldn't let her colors go!

Lil Worker Bee

Saturday, after a FUN evening out for a friend's wedding, I had to work - EEK!!!!  It's kind of a hands off morning as a facilitator, so I decided to bring Mackenna with me...I don't know exactly what I was thinking as she had to be in the same room with me for 4 hours, but for whatever reason it worked!!!  She was SO good and my class really seemed to love having her there :)

Sitting in Tyler's spot typing away (well she thought she was!)

We got her some of mommy's flip chart paper and she LOVED to color as you can see!

Towards the end of class she wanted to get on the phone - the group started to call her when we were calling it a day and it was so funny to watch her get SO excited!  A guy by the name of Ben ended up being her best friend and she would even pick up her pretend phone at home for the rest of the weekend and say, "Ben?"

Just wanted to be one with the classroom :)

Taking it all in...

Another First...

On Saturday this past weekend, we took Mackenna to Brunswick Bowl and had some fun bowling with her for her first time.  She lasted about 6 or so frames and then she was done and just wanted to walk around and take it all in.  When she was bowling, she was actually really enjoying it - she would count 1...2...and then push the ball down her ramp!

So fun...she had a hard time not wanting to chase after the ball once it went down the ramp and even crashed and burned as she ran on the lane :)

Bowling with Daddy

She means business!

MUSCLES! Yup, it was 6lbs!

Such a happy girl!

Little 'vids' action with Daddy before we left!

Cowgirl Princess

We have quite the personality forming in our house these days!!!!!!  I don't have many words to say, I think I'll just let the pics do the talking :)

She's sporting her new shirt from Grandma H., light up shoes and princess TUTU and feeling absolutely beautiful!!!

Love this little girl!!!!!  She calls her cowgirl hat from Grandma S her YEE HAW! (notice, she's still wearing her new light up shoes)

Even after her bath and putting her jammies on, she had to wear her TUTU!

And yes, we absolutely, as princesses do, had to wear our TUTU to bed!

School Bus Obsession

Mackenna has been real into her surroundings lately and very much into trucks, cars, buses and her most favorite, school buses, or as she calls them...COOOOOO bus!

By our house is the high school and there are about 50 buses in the parking lot getting ready for the new school year, so Friday night we surprised her on our walk and took her to see the buses up close and personal...I think this was the highlight of her weekend!

There were a couple buses that had their doors open, so we took the opportunity to let her hop inside :)

She had so much fun!

Daddy and his girl!

Pure AWE!

Future Olympian?

Kenna has really enjoyed watching the Olympics with her favorite sport being swimming!  She would wake up each morning and come home each night asking for the pool!  Jessica even said at daycare, she would watch the pool on her tummy with her head in her hands enamored with what she was seeing.  She has been chanting U-S-A which actually to her sounds like, "U - Say!" it's so stinking cute! And the other night, she was watching with us and went over to grab my 3lb hand weights and start doing some lifts :) Future Olympian?  Maybe...

Too Fast to Keep Up!

There has been so much going on lately, it's hard to keep up with all of Mackenna's new words, etc!!!!  Literally almost daily, there is something new - it's been so fun!  She is so conversational and is becoming a lil lady!  Just this morning, she came running out of her room after she picked out the tutu she wanted to wear to Pati's saying, "Daddy, I a pincess!" - since we don't call her our princess, we are guessing she's getting it from the big girls at daycare :) it's so precious!!!!  She twirls and is just in awe of herself - never to early to feel beautiful, right?!

She's a talking machine too - we can basically carry on a conversation with her with minimal HUH's?!?!  This past weekend she starting saying YUP and NOPE and it's so matter-of-fact which is the best part about it.  "Kenna, are you a big girl?" "YUP!" ;) it's awesome

She can count to 10 on her own - well 6 before she gives up, but she's done it before.  And she probably can recognize most of the letters of the alphabet too!  Giving her a bath with her foam letters and numbers is a real treat as she is just so into telling us what she sees - proud parents for sure!

She LOVES pizza and just started saying hot dog instead of da da - and speaking of saying things more clearly, she says, Wiggly now instead of dee dee for Wrigley.

Name recognition is amazing and when we pick her up from Pati's each day, it's been so fun to listen to her tell you who she played with and what she did.  She's even been bringing home pictures each day that she colors which is always a treat for us!

She's into helping out around the house which is never a bad thing for me!  She helps me fold laundry, loves to walk around with the swiffer duster and even helps me pick up and throw things away.  She is very good at handing you your stuff too, so even if I want to put my phone down, she will grab it and say, "Mommy phone" and make sure I get it right back!

Her favorite thing to do each morning is come lay with mommy and daddy in bed before it's time to get going for the day -it's been a fun tradition we are starting.

She also loves to hide!  She may not be the best at it, but we've started to play hide-n-seek too, so we think she'll get better with time. Her favorite spot is right under her blanket!

I know there is much more that I'm missing, but I'll update as I remember more :) let's just say, as I think I've said numerous times before...this is such an amazing age!!!!!!!!!
