Vintage

Over the weekend, Mackenna and I headed to Sun Porch studios for a mini session with Andrea and it was so fun!  Mackenna was more interested in playing with all the toys in the backyard, but we managed to get some really cute shots. She is such an animated lil girl, so this was really fun to capture all sides of her!
Like I said, she was more into playing than taking pictures :)

'I'm Cute' couldn't be any more fitting!

Crabby peanut again, but the vintage theme totally came across and worked!
She's looking so blond these days!
Such a flirt!
Can't say much about this one except HILARIOUS!
I love my lil peanut :)

LOVE THIS ONE!

Toddler Fun

With the weather being the theme of my most recent posts, its only fitting to update on our fun days together spent mainly inside beating the heat!
Crazy enough, we both started to get cabin fever and if we couldn't go outside, mommy was going to find SOMETHING for us to do :)  Here are a few pics showing how much fun we had together!  It sure was hard going back to work and her going back to Pati's today - so much so, she shed many tears at the time of dropoff and I may have had a little tear in my eye too.  I'd give anything to be at home with her all the time...

Enjoying her new favorite treat...NUMMIES as she calls them!

Jumps and Downs in Shakopee!  We had a fun playdate with our friend Jessica, Michael and Sydney :)

Took every fiber of my being to let her in the balls, but we bathed her in sanitizer and gave her a bath when we got home :) She LOVED them!

She did a little grocery shopping with mommy!  She was the hit of CUB Foods!

What a fun cart full of goodies!  Yes, she was picking this all out herself :)

Totally mesmerized by the "Food Coloring Fireworks"!!!

Finger painting turned into body painting :)

Riding the carousel at the MOA!

I couldn't believe it - she actually rode the trucks all by herself!!!!

She eyed me in the beginning to make sure I was still there, but after a couple times around, she was in her glory all by herself :)

Checking out the giraffes at the Como Zoo!

Mommy's Lil Firecracker!

We had a wonderful 4th of July at Grandma's pool!!!!  It was still SO hot, so it was a perfect way to beat the heat, get a little color and enjoy some tropical drinks poolside, good company and great food!

So proud of her new dress!!!

A HOT (ok scorching) walk around the lake!

On Monday, my first official day of my mini staycation, we went for a walk around lake Calhoun with my friend, Acacia!

Ready for our walk!

It sounded like a fantastic idea when we planned it, however it was the first day of many to come of unbearable heat! We started at 9:30am and by the time we were done, we had not only dipped Mackenna into the lake to get some cool water on her, but finished our time together enjoying an ice cold, healthy treat at Jamba Juice! I have to give credit to Acacia who is due with her first baby in 5 weeks....she handled it like a champ!!!!!

Enjoying her 4oz Jamba Juice with mommy and her friend :)

Summer FUN!

Finger painting Daddy's father's day present!

Playing ball with Daddy (yes this was the one and only time in the house if I have anything to say about it)

Can't say much more except PRICELESS about this one :)

Playing in her new pool from Grandpa Mack!

Wrigley enjoys it too :)

It may not look like it, but she was absolutely LOVING this!!!!!

Just a nice little snapshot I had to share :)

The dog walker

My little dog walker:)

She was stopping traffic with the cuteness!!!

I sure am a lucky mama to have such a sweet girl!

What does a duck say?

Mackenna was home sick with pink eye and an ear infection, but who doesn't need a little fresh air?!?! So we went for a walk around Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis.
All ready to go for our walk!

She was content staying in her stroller until we got to the beach with the play area and the one really talkative duck in the water that she just had to go see!  We've never really talked about what a duck says, so this was fun and absolutely adorable to see her do on her own!

Taking it all in...

Checking out her shadow in the water!

Playing with her shadow - so sweet and innocent :)

Singing Diva

This is Kenna's rendition of Rain, Rain, Go Away :)

And here is Kenna and Daddy playing and singing!
(I secretly love the very end with my quick pan over to Nate, hehe!)

2 Year Check-up with Dr. Jones

We visited Dr. Jones this week (July 2nd, 2012) for Kenna's 2 year wellness check!  And things are looking really well!

She is weighing in at 27.5 lbs (50%) and measuring at 33.5 inches (55%) and after watching her play, talk and interact, she seems to be at a 2.5 year old level!!!  He said she's pretty advanced with all the colors and letters she knows :) Proud mama for sure!!!!

They did another x-ray on her tummy to see how things are working in there since her procedure at Children's and I'm happy to report that it's looking much better - not perfect yet, but MUCH better!  Her colon isn't distended anymore and that is what we were most hoping would have changed by now.  We are going to try some 2% milk later this week or next and test out the potential of maybe some intolerance to lactose, so cross your fingers we're good there!

Other than that, she got 2 shots and that means we don't have to do anymore til she's 4 - HOORAY!!!  She was such a big girl and continue to be amazed at how much she has grown!

Mackenna's ACTUAL Birthday!!!

I took Mackenna to the Mall of America for a fun-filled day on her actual birthday with Grandma Harrison and Aunt Erica - Uncle Rob came too!  With Daddy out of town :( we had to do something fun for her big day so we weren't sad he wasn't able to be there.
Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Girl!

Playing with the Legos at Lego Land before our day began!

Such a happy girl on the zebra at the merry-go-round!

She got to meet a lot of characters that day too - her first one was Blue from Blues Clues...we don't watch the show, so she was just happy to see a puppy!
Then it was off to Underwater Adventures...she loved everything about it!
Stingrays!

At one point Kenna actually picked up a starfish (you're not supposed to do that) but thankfully we saw it right away and made sure she put it back :)
Touching the starfish with Grandma
Now this I wish I would have gotten a video of...she saw Sharky while we were waiting for lunch, but he didn't see her, so started to walk away.  She literally chased him, probably a block, just to get his attention and give him a hug.  She's so funny!

Grandma preoccupied her with a nummy sucker while we were waiting to eat at Rainforest Cafe!

Lunch time at the Rainforest Cafe!

More SINGING!!!!

Later on in the day, as a nap was totally out of the question, Grandma Sheryl came over and we went to Toy R Us for some presents and DQ for some nummy ice cream :)

Looking a little sleepy if you ask me ;) what a day!!!!!

The Water Table!

Aunt Erica (CaCa) and Eric got Miss Mackenna her first water table and I think it's an understatement when I say she LOVES IT!!!!!

The morning after her birthday party, we got it put together and out on the deck and I think we might have been out there for over 2 hours while she played :) GREAT summer activity for us, especially with how hot it has been lately!

LOVES it!

She even had breakfast out there while playing....I don't think we've ever seen her eat so fast!

Wrigley was very interested in the food that was falling all around her!

Such a happy lil lady!

We got the bubble machine going too!  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Harrison, this thing might be might favorite new toy too!

So many bubbles!

So this is where it gets funny...Kenna wanted nothing more than to take off her PJ's and diaper and 'swim' in her water table!!!!

She is one hysterical little girl!

:)
