Daddy and his girl!

Just had to post :)

Children's Heart Clinic

Today was our much anticipated visit to the Children's Heart Center at the Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. I was a nervous wreck and I think Nate was too, but he kept thinking about what Dr. Jones said and that calmed his nerves a bit! First, I picked Kenna up from daycare and we headed to McDonald's for a Happy Meal lunch date :)

Then it was off to meet Daddy at the hospital! We first went with the nurse to get her height and weight recorded, then it was right to the EKG. We thought we were going for the echocardiogram, but it turned out we got the EKG instead - she had about 10 little stickers all over her with wires everywhere, but she took it like a champ of course! Once that was done, we waited for Dr. Hills to come talk to us. Thankfully when she came in the room, it was all good news! Kenna has a healthy heart and nothing we need to worry about. Her EKG was normal and works a little harder than the rest right now, but as she grows, it will continue to go away and eventually should be gone for good. She explained to us a lot of little details that Nate seemed to understand more than I did :) I just cared that she was OK!!! Oh and Dr. Hills son used to be a student of Nate's - goodness what a small world!

Being at Children's today made me remember just how lucky we are to have a healthy little girl. It was a small scare, but we feel so blessed she is OK and we could leave there with an easy heart (no pun intended!)

Til next time...

Brushing our Toofers!!!

Just a couple cute pics of Kenna and her big moment brushing her 8 teeth!!! She's getting to be such a big girl!

Water Baby

We have found out very quickly that Kenna LOVES the water (we should have assumed this much with how much fun she has in the bathtub)!

We found the new meaning to phrase "bathing beauty"...ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!

4 days of Celebration - Part 4

Saturday was my BIG party! Kenna had her beautiful party dress and matching bow to boot! She had some family and friends come and celebrate the milestone moment!!! It was a great afternoon!

She got so many great things and enjoyed opening them up with me!

4 days of Celebration - Part 3

It was a great night celebrating!!!!! Then it was off to get a good nights rest for the final celebration!

4 days of Celebration - Part 2

On Kenna's BIG day - Thursday, June 16, 2011, I took the day off from work to celebrate and enjoy the day with her. Nate couldn't take time off, but we made sure to visit him for lunch!!! We had a perfect day!!! After the doc, she got her morning nap in, then we went and got some chicken mcnuggets from McDonalds to take to Daddy's office, then it was home to take a LONG afternoon nap. After that, we got some great playtime outside in before Daddy came home, then the real fun began! We took her to MOA and what a night we had!

We started at Build a Bear so she could build her first bear (we're hoping to maybe start a tradition with this as she had a lot of fun!)

She really enjoyed helping to stuff and make her bear special by putting her very own heart inside!

When her bear was done and all sewn up, she was presented to Kenna and she was truly in awe at what she saw!

After she was made, then it was time to have some fun and get her dressed up! After that, we asked Kenna what she wanted to call her and she said, "DEE!", so DEE it was!!!

Then it was time to head to dinner! We decided to try out the new restaurant, Soul Daddy's!

Kenna is sure one friendly little girl saying HI to everyone now that she can say it :)

After dinner it was off to get some ice cream!

To top off our night at the MOA, we ended at Nick Universe and went on a few rides!

I think it was a perfect 1st birthday and she definitely was our little birthday princess!
