GO UTES!

Our "family" away from home in Utah sent us a box full of Utes goodies this week and Mackenna hit the jackpot with not 1, but 2 cheerleader uniforms to cheer on ONE of our favorite college teams :)

Pretty sure she's the cutest mini cheerleader around! This just makes mama excited for MVC Jr Cheer Camp which is coming up in Oct...

Girls of the Neighborhood

We've started to get our typical hot, muggy weather here in good old MN, so yesterday Mackenna and some of her lil neighborhood friends got out the pool and slip n' slide for some water fun!!!

Once Kenna figured out how fun the slip n' slide was, she wouldn't stop and was running full force :)

DIY FUN!

We had some DIY fun over the weekend by adding some pavers around our sidewalk and of course, Mackenna HAD to get in on the fun and help her daddy out. She did a pretty good job if you ask me :)



Movie in the Park (Charlotte's Web)

On Friday, Nate and I took Mackenna to a movie in the park at Starling Lake Park! Some of our daycare friends told us about this fun event, so we decided to mix up the routine and give it a shot!! It was so much fun and for her first movie outside of our home, it was a success! I think we'll have to finally take her to the theater and see how she does there!

When we got there, they had an arts and crafts table, so Mackenna jumped right in :)

Never seen her use scissors before, she did a great job!

Best friends! (She actually gave Rebecca a big hug when they were riding on this and said, "You're my best friend Becca!" - heartwarming!)

Mommy's Best Friend

I've mentioned it before in earlier posts, but Mackenna calls me her best friend all the time and it is just adorable and always melts my heart. She is the best thing in the entire world and this just shows my love and my relationship with this sweet girl!!!

Adventure in the Park

Lately, we've been taking longer walks around our new neighborhood and surrounding areas and have been finding some fun new parks. Over the weekend, we went to the 'red park' as Mackenna calls it and took Wrigley and Mackenna got a fun surprise!  She got to see Wrigley swim for the first time...since moving home from TX, we haven't taken Wrigley swimming very much, but she was thrilled to go back in the water and Mackenna thoroughly enjoyed it!!!!!

Thankfully we had her on the leash...the stream's current was rather strong and would have taken her away in a quick second!

A Couple Cute Ones...

We were taking care of Guiness (Aunt Erica and Eric's dog) and I got this cute snapshot of the 2 of them - Kenna LOVES Guiness :)

A couple times, we've gone in to check on Mackenna before bed and have found this adorable sight!!!! She absolutely LOVES her lil friends!

Como Zoo

We made our annual summer trip to the Como Zoo and had fun with Kenna really getting into it this year with the animals - wanting to see them all and then of course telling us what sounds they make :) The new Gorilla exhibit was finally done and ready for viewing pleasure - it was awesome to capture Mackenna's expression when she saw the BIG monkeys!!!!

Summer of 1st's!

Granpda Jeff decided it would be a fun Saturday evening to take us all to Valleyfair and boy was he right! This was the 1st time Mackenna has been to Valleyfair and we were shocked at all there was for her to do at her age. She fell in love with the park and I think we'll be going back before the snow hits!!!

Look What We Found...

Each night before we head to bed, I go and check on Mackenna to make sure she's tucked in a comfortable for the night. Well on this particular night I went in to her room and she was nowhere to be found - it was very scary and the fact that she couldn't have gone far was lingering in my head, but it was still so weird to go in and not see her! 

After all the looking, I was about to head downstairs to start my search there, when something caught my eye in the bathroom...

Can't help but just laugh at this...so random, but yet so hilarious!

Just happy to know she was safe and sound in her bathroom :)



1st Trip to the Beach

A couple weekends ago, we took Mackenna to the Prior Lake Beach for the very 1st time. We've been going to Grandma's pool so much, we thought we'd have a change of scenery for a day! It was so much fun and we were there for several hours. We packed a picnic, plenty of sunscreen and tools and some sand toys and had one of the best days yet this summer!

4th of July!!!
