Kenna's 1 year check up!

So Kenna's birthday started out with a check up at the doctor's office with Dr. Jones. I felt so guilty taking her on her BIG day, but as everyone told me, she won't remember and it will just be me feeling bad! So I got over it the best I could and tried to remember that!

Her check up went very well! She weighs 21 lbs, 8 oz (55th percentile) and is almost 30 inches long (70th percentile), oh and her 'dome' as Daddy calls it, is in the 90th percentile, so she is right up there and doing fantastic with all of that! She was cleared to begin whole milk and so far she loves it and drinks quite a bit. With 8 teeth now, we were also cleared to begin the wonderful adventure of brushing her teeth (with non fluoride toothpaste of course!) and she does pretty well with that too! Everything else he checked was great and he was so happy to see her; he even danced with her and sang Happy Birthday (he's such a great doc!).

Unfortunately, he did still hear her infantile murmur, so next Thursday, Nate and I are taking her to Children's downtown to have an EKO done on her heart. He let us know that we should not lose sleep over this at all, but just take it as a precaution and if something is wrong, to get it fixed now. He let us know it's the lowest on the scale for murmurs - it's a level I/VI early systolic infantile heart murmur. Of course were nervous as can be, but are anxious to just get the results and move past this! We also have to take her back to the ENT on Tuesday, but I think from the sounds of it, we'll be tube free!!! It's going to be a big week of doc visits, but we're praying and hoping for the BEST possible outcomes!
